Gionee communications was founded by Liu Li Rong in September, 2002. This high tech enterprise focuses on production and sales of mobile phones. Design and Display

Gionee Pioneer P2 not only looks good but even feels good to hold. This bar shaped device comes with a height of 126.0 mm, width of 64.4 mm and a thickness of 11.2 mm as its dimensions. The Pioneer P2 features a WVGA capacitive touchscreen of 4.0-inches which gives a resolution of 800x480 pixels and a 233 ppi pixel density. The front panel features only three feather touch soft keys which are present below the screen. It comes with proximity sensor, G-sensor, E-compass and light sensor.

Hardware and Software

Powering the Pioneer P2 is a dual-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 processor with Mali 400 GPU. It has a massive RAM of 512 MB and an internal memory of 4 GB which can be expanded to another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Gionee Pioneer P2 runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Telephony and Messaging

Gionee Pioneer P2 is a dual SIM device that operates on 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz) and 3G (HSDPA 900/2100MHz) frequencies. The phonebook has the capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts. SMS (threaded view), MMS, push mail, email, RSS and IM are some of the messaging and email facilities available for this smartphone.

The Pioneer P2 boasts a 5 MP primary camera with LED flash which takes 2592x1944 pixels resolution pictures. The camera features includes HD video recording, touch-focus, panorama, face detection, face beauty, gesture and smile shot. There is a VGA front-facing camera available for this smartphone that enables the users to video calling.

Gionee Pioneer P2 has a DTS 3D surround sound system which offers awesome sound quality. The device supports popular audio and video formats like MP3, MP4, H.264/H.263, 3GP and AVI. The FM radio is also there for uninterrupted entertainment. The video player gives you amazing picture quality as well as solid sound.

The connectivity attributes of the device includes GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, micro USB v2.0, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, USB internet (sharing PC internet via USB), wireless input device (keyboard and mouse) and Gionee xender (sharing big files in seconds). The Pioneer P2 also features A-GPS support for navigation. The smartphone is fueled by a Li-Ion 1700 mAh battery to ensure better usage time.
