Gionee Elife E7 is a super stylish phone with abundant features that is available in the market. The box contents includes a handset, battery, charger, earphone, USB cable, user manual, screen protector, carrying case and warranty card.

Design and Display

The phone has a plastic body with flat granite texture and curved ends which makes it easy to hold and carry. The front panel comprises of capacitive buttons which are just invisible when the phone is not illuminated, a small earpiece and a front camera lens. The company has fitted audio jack on the top, USB port on the bottom, volume button on the right side and SIM card tray on the left which would need a pin for ejection.

It has 150.6 mm of height, 75 mm of width and 9.5 mm of thickness as its dimensions with a weight of 150 grams. Elife E7 has got a 5.5 inches, IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with Full HD resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, 401ppi pixel density and corning gorilla glass protection.

Hardware and Software

It is powered by 2.2 GHz Quad Core ( Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 ) processor. The company gives the option to choose from 16 GB of on-board storage with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of on-board storage with 2 GB of RAM. However, there is no support for microSD slot in both the cases. Presence of Adreno 330 GPU ensures amazing graphics experience. Gionee E7 operates on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System. It also avails accelerometer, proximity, gyro and compass sensors to have effective operations.

Telephony and Messaging

The device operates on 2G and 3G networks. For messaging it supports SMS, MMS, Email, Push Mail and IM. It also has the T9 dictionary that helps in typing.

Camera

The device has a rear camera of 16 MP based on the Amigo 2.0 camera interface which features auto screen recognition, 12 level of auto beauty, 12 level of auto makeup mode and so on. The camera comes with standard features like Zoom, LED flash, auto-focus, Geo-tagging, video recording etc. It also has a 8 MP front camera with auto-focus feature that provide a resolution of 3264x2448 pixels.

Entertainment

For entertainment it features music player, image viewer/ editor, video recorder, video player, games, FM radio, ringtones, SNS Integration and inbuilt apps. Plus availability of 3.5 mm jack and 3 mic reduction system further increases its capabilities.

Connectivity and Battery

The device has connectivity options for NFC, GPRS, Wi-Fi, EDGE, Bluetooth, USB and handsfree. It also has GPS with A-GPS support that helps in navigation. The phone packs a Li-Po battery of 2500 mAh.

The phone is available in seven color options of Black, White, Green, Pink, Yellow, Blue and Orange in a price of Rs. 26,999 approximately.

Verdict

Gionee Elife E7 is the smartphone with a bag full of features like great screen, top end performance, fantastic camera and a long lasting battery life. Even the price fixed by the company is reasonably low. But the thing where it puts us down is for not supporting 4G LTE and and a microSD slot for expansion of storage. Also the brand name is still struggling to establish itself in the market. Whereas on the other hand its rivals Google Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One have already gained the confidence of customers.
