From the perspective of price to feature, Fly F40 has to be one of the better choices in the market today. The 3.78 in touchscreen uses capacitive technology which allows you to interact seamlessly with your device using finger gestures. No more cumbersome and clumsy keypads. It also comes with the highly popular Android operating system which means that you will be able to expand your phones functionality easily. It comes in black, and out of the box, it is accompanied by the battery, its charger, a headset, data cable and a user manual. The sleek black exterior only has two external buttons that protrude from its lines, these are the power and volume keys. The software that runs in the phone can connect users to Gmail, YouTube, as well as your own phone book and preloaded wall papers.
The F40 comes standard with 2 GB RAM and dual SIM support. This gives you the ability to alternate between two different SIM cards and have two phone numbers. Screen resolution is great for this price point at 320x480 pixels, but that’s a little out-dated. The resolution is fine for text, but as far as images and video are concerned, it gets grainy. The thing that is also worth noting is that the Fly F40 works on the reliable 2G GSM 900/1800 MHz network. So that’s always available almost everywhere you go. Within these frequencies, you will also be able to grab on to GPRS and EDGE.
This phone may suit many people but it won’t be a major deal for those who value their mobile connectivity. 2G is ok for emails and messaging but for surfing, it’s got to be 3G or else all bets are off. Downloading a simple web page takes next to forever on 2G and if that’s what you are into, then move on as there is nothing to see here, folks.
The awesome thing about this phone is that it has two cameras. The forward facing camera - the one that points at you, is a VGA camera and the one that points away from you - the main camera is 3.2 MP. That makes for some pretty decent photographs. It is also able to record videos on the fly. Now, mind you the video recording is not HD, but the quality is pretty impressive. In addition to the video and stills capturing ability, the camera also comes with an audio player for recorded music.
The Fly F40 has an internal memory capacity of 170MB which is expandable to 32GB. That’s a huge amount of upgrades. The beauty about upgradeable storage is that it caters to different people and their individual lifestyle. In addition to having such fabulous multimedia capability, it has the battery life to support that as well. The battery is a chargeable one with a capacity of 1400mAh that lasts approximately 6 hours with a standby talk time of 130 hours.
