The Blackberry Z3 was announced by the company in the month of May in 2014 and launched in June in the same year. It is micro SIM based phone which is available in the market in Black shade at a price of INR 15, 990. Z3 works on 2G network at GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz all versions. It works on 3G network at HSDPA and on 4G network at LTE.
The Blackberry Z3 is a micro SIM based smartphone, released on May, 2014. It comes with a height of 140 mm, width of 72.8 mm and a thickness of 9.3 mm along with a weight of 164 grams. The Blackberry Z3 packs a non-removable Li-Ion 2500 mAh battery which delivers a talk-time of 15 hours 30 minutes and a standby duration of 384 hours. The phone is designed using bar format which makes it easy to grip.
The Z3 features a 5.0-inches capacitive touchscreen which provides a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and a 220 ppi of pixel density. It runs on Blackberry 10.2.1 operating system. Powering the device is a Dual-core, 1.2 GHz Krait 200 processor with a Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon 400 chip-set and Adreno 305 GPU. The Blackberry Z3 has a RAM of 1.5 GB and an internal storage of 8 GB which can be expanded to another 32 GB via micro SD card. There is no hard key present on the phone, it features feather touch soft keys which are well responsive to the input signals.
The device supports 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and 3G (HSDPA 900/1900/2100) frequencies. The phonebook has a capacity to store an unlimited number of contacts. SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM and BBM6 are some of the messaging and email facilities available for the Blackberry Z3. The phone also comes with the option of predictive text input in order to facilitate typing.
The smartphone has a primary camera of 5 MP which provides a photo resolution of 2592x1994 pixels. It is also featured with a LED flash, auto-focus and Geo-tagging. The secondary camera has a 1.1 MP count which enables you for video calling. One can record 1080p videos on to the device.
The connectivity attributes of the device includes 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi Direct and Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and LE, micro USB v2.0 and NFC. It also offers A-GPS support in order to facilitate the navigation.
The Blackberry Z3 has the goodness of HTML5 browser which handles the apps well that are thrown on its way. Games and movies look really good on the large display. It comes pre-loaded with some of the apps like Blackberry Maps, Document viewer, organizer, video editor, photo viewer and editor.
The Blackberry Z3 is available in a single color option: Black.
The smartphone is nicely priced around Rs.12,499 approx.
Overall, Blackberry Z3 is a good phone with a brand name. The Blackberry OS is one of its distinguishing feature from the usual Android combinations.
