BlackBerry Porsche Design P9983 Graphite is one of the costly and luxury smartphone of Blackberry that comes with premium quality, style and decent set of features. It was actually announced in September 2014 but officially got introduced in April, 2015. But the official launch date of this smartphone is August, 2015. Its designing is the main factor that make it unique from others. It comes with leather wrapped back cover and stainless black color frame along with backened glass at front. The keypad is also designed by using quality synthetic material which at one glance look like a glass keys because of 3D effect and silver colored font used on it. Let's have a brief look on its specs below:
The upper half of this smartphone features a small 3.1-inch, 24-bit color OLED display which offers a screen resolution of 720x720 pixels. Being a high-end smartphone, it may provide super fine clarity but the big screen has its own feature. Below the screen, there is a touchscreen navigation and full QWERTY physical keyboard that allows easy texting. As I mentioned above, its keypad is designed under special consideration and it contributes a lot in enhancing the style of this smartphone. The small screen drawback somehow hide behind the quality of keypad. Dimensions wise, it has a height of 119 mm, width of 67.1 mm, thickness of 10.6 mm and it weighs at 140 grams. The handset is a bit heavy and its bulky design make it difficult to hold in hand for long hours.
It comes powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 processor that is coupled with 2 GB RAM. It is powerful enough to carry all the operations with ease. The operating system version offered in this smartphone is a Blackberry OS 10. While for the ease of routine tasks, it is built with accelerometer, compass, ambient light, magnetometer and proximity sensors.
The camera part of this phone is comparatively weak from other reputed smartphones. It comes equipped with an auto-focus 8 MP camera on the back frame that includes a range of features like LED flash, 1080p HD video recording and 5 element F2.2 lens. On the other hand, it has only 2 MP camera on front for selfies and recording HD video. The premium smartphones ranging between 50-60k are supporting more than 13 MP camera. The 8 MP camera on around 1 lakhs priced smartphone is just unfair. In the terms of storage, there is an internal memory of 64 GB which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card depending upon need.
The connectivity features of the phone are 4G LTE / 3G HSPA, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Micro HDMI, NFC, GPS GLONASS+ and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz). It also includes FM Radio for the entertainment purpose. For the backup, it depends upon 2100 mAh removable battery.
The BlackBerry Porsche Design P9983 Graphite is available in Black color option only. It will go on sale on a price tag of INR 99,990. Well, in the Indian market, there is no any smartphone that lock its horn with this device. But the luxury phone lovers can also consider range of Vertu mobiles which too comprises of luxury features.
