February 02, 2013
AT&T is the largest provider of mobile telephony and broadband subscription television services in the United States. It is headquartered in the Lenox Park area of DeKalb Co. Georgia, just outside Atlanta. On 20 March 2011, its intention to acquire T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom for $ 39 billion is announced. If it had received government approval, AT&T would have more than 130 million subscribers, but the Federal Communications Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice and competitors, opposed the move and in December 2011. AT&T backed out of their effort with the merger.
