One Touch Sapphire 2 is an Android smartphone launched by Alcatel in its One Touch series in July, 2013. The phone comes loaded with excellent features that makes it perfect from all aspects. The main rivals of this rich featured mobile phone are Lenovo A706, Nokia X and Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2. All these phones offer wide range of features at an affordable price.

Processor and OS

Processing the device, to deliver smooth app performance and to run multiple apps simultaneously, is a 1GHz dual core processor coupled with a 512MB RAM. Running the device is an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Display and Dimensions

The phone boasts a big 4.5-inch TFT capacitive screen for the rich and clear view of the pictures, text files, videos etc. The screen resolution provided by the phone is 540x960 pixels. It flaunts a 16 Million color depth, so that you can enjoy entertainment in rich and vivid colors. The dimensions of the phone are quite similar to any high-end smartphone of reputed companies. With the height of 131mm, width of 68mm, thickness of 10.9mm and weighing at 139 grams, the phone is bit heavy and bulky. But its overall looks are decent. For the user comfort, sensors like proximity and ambient light is also present on the screen.

Camera and Memory

Sapphire 2 boasts a 5MP camera at back panel so that user can click every special moment and save it in the phone forever. The highest resolution you can set for the pictures is 2560x1920 pixels. The features like LED flash, digital zoom and auto focus are also present with the camera for good quality pictures. You can also capture as well as play video of 720p at 30 fps with the rear camera. For the front shots, its front panel includes 0.3MP camera which clicks normal quality picture. In the terms of storage, the phone comes loaded with a 4GB internal memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB if needed through microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

On social networking front, apps like Facebook, Twitter comes pre-loaded in the phone and you can surf the internet through Wi-Fi connectivity and 3G support. For the wireless data sharing, it has Bluetooth along with a USB port and 3.5mm jack to connect with other devices. To navigate the directions, it has A-GPS support. While all the power to the phone to run all these services is provided by a Lithium 1800mAH battery which promises a 2G and 3G talktime up to 16 hours and 8.5 hours along with a stand-by time of up to 700 hours on 2G and 400 hours on 3G network.

Multimedia

To be in touch with your loved ones and family, the phone facilitates messaging features like SMS, MMS with the predictive text input mode for easy and fast typing. It also offers FM Radio and audio player for the entertainment purpose. Some other productivity related tools like currency converter, organizer, to-do list, alarm clock and calculator are also present on the phone.

One Touch Sapphire 2 comes with a four colors option including Cherry Red, Pure White, Black and Flash Yellow. All these colors enhance the beauty of the smartphone.
