Acer Liquid Z5 is the latest dual SIM smartphone by Acer which was announced in January, 2014 ahead of CES 2014 and will be released soon in about seven markets. It has a plastic and unibody construction with a neat finishing which makes it a fair deal in the category of budget smartphones. It comes in a pack with a charger, a data cable, a headset, an user guide and a Li-Ion 2000mAh battery. It has a height of 145.5mm, a width of 73.5mm and a thickness of 8.8mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 150gms and runs on 2G(GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz) and 3G(HSDPA 900 / 2100) network frequencies. It comes in gentle grey and essential white shades at a price of US$ 230 which converts to INR 14000 approximately.
Acer Liquid Z5 has a 5.0-inch, capacitive and multi-touch, TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 480x854 pixels, 16M color depth and 196ppi pixel density. For multitasking, it has got Float UI which appears as a translucent screen while floating over the function being used and allows additional app windows to be overlaid along with providing an easy access to 8 Float apps which includes camera, calculator, notes, maps, caller and others. There is also present a Quick mode for giving your Android powered smartphone a Windows device like feel by using an alternative boxy tiled app screen(essential-only interface for beginners) instead of a traditional one. It has a RAM of 512MB along with an internal memory of 4GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD memory card. It is an Android v4.2, Jelly Bean OS based smartphone with a dual-core 1.3GHz Cortex A7 processor, a MediaTek 6572 chipset, a Mali 400 GPU and few sensors such as accelerometer, proximity, light and compass.
Acer Liquid Z5 has also got a 5.0MP BSI rear camera with a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels, digital zoom, IR filter, auto focus, LED flash, geo-tagging, HDR and five f/2.4 aperture lenses which can even record high-definition videos. It also has a 0.3MP VGA front camera for video calling and selfie. For messaging, it has got SMS, MMS, E-mail, Push mail, IM and integrated social networking sites along with predictive text input. For connectivity, it has got a GPRS and EDGE, a v3.0 Bluetooth with A2DP and EDR, a v2.0 micro USB port, WLAN feature with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and hotspot, GPS with A-GPS support and a fairly well 3G speed. It also has a special rear-facing shortcut key where the forefinger rests naturally called Acer Rapid, which upon a short tap will open your favorite app and upon a long press will open the camera app, even when your smartphone is locked.
Acer Liquid Z5 also has a lot of other features such as DTS sound enhancement, speakers at front, a 3.5mm audio jack, a HTML browser, FM radio, Java via MIDP emulator, an organizer, an audio and a video player with supported formats, a document viewer, a photo editor, voice memo/dial, tethering, computer and OTA sync, miniature apps and many more. Also, it has different profile modes to choose which are categorized according to age groups and personalities and includes a Quick mode(with text functions and fixed call) for youngsters, a Classic mode(a simple and organized layout for all main features) for first time smartphone users, a Keypad mode for people who use their voice primarily and an Easy Senior mode(message, weather, clock, radio, quick call contacts and magnifier) for elderly users.
