For multitasking, it has got Float UI which appears as a translucent screen while floating over the function being used and allows additional app windows to be overlaid along with providing an easy access to 8 Float apps which includes camera, calculator, notes, maps, caller and others. There is also present a Quick mode for giving your Android powered smartphone a Windows device like feel by using an alternative boxy tiled app screen(essential-only interface for beginners) instead of a traditional one. It has a RAM of 512MB along with an internal memory of 4GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD memory card. It is an Android v4.2, Jelly Bean OS based smartphone with a dual-core 1.3GHz Cortex A7 processor, a MediaTek 6572 chipset, a Mali 400 GPU and few sensors such as accelerometer, proximity, light and compass.

It also has a 0.3MP VGA front camera for video calling and selfie. For messaging, it has got SMS, MMS, E-mail, Push mail, IM and integrated social networking sites along with predictive text input. For connectivity, it has got a GPRS and EDGE, a v3.0 Bluetooth with A2DP and EDR, a v2.0 micro USB port, WLAN feature with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and hotspot, GPS with A-GPS support and a fairly well 3G speed. It also has a special rear-facing shortcut key where the forefinger rests naturally called Acer Rapid, which upon a short tap will open your favorite app and upon a long press will open the camera app, even when your smartphone is locked.

Acer Liquid Z5 also has a lot of other features such as DTS sound enhancement, speakers at front, a 3.5mm audio jack, a HTML browser, FM radio, Java via MIDP emulator, an organizer, an audio and a video player with supported formats, a document viewer, a photo editor, voice memo/dial, tethering, computer and OTA sync, miniature apps and many more.
