The Japanese manufacturer, Sony is best known for its water and dust resistant smartphones. The Sony Xperia Z is one of the high-end device by the company launched in February, 2013. It works on 2G, 3G and 4G network frequencies.

Display and Dimensions

The device features a 5-inch full HD TFT screen with 16 million color depth and 441ppi pixel density that ensures the real life clarity and it let you view super sharp pictures. Like its other devices, it is also a water and dust resistant phone. The dimensions of the phone are measured as 139x71x7.9 mm along with a weight of 146 grams.

Processor and OS

At the heart, it has a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with Qualcomm MDM9215M chipset and Adreno 320 GPU. It is coupled with a 2GB RAM for sufficient amount of room for the data that requires fast access. Running the device is an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system which is upgradable to 4.4.2 KitKat.

Camera and Memory

For the photography, it comes loaded with a wonderful 13MP primary camera with LED flash and auto-focus feature. On the front, it has a 2.2MP camera for the selfies and video calling. It also allows you to capture full HD videos. In the terms of storage, the phone supports an internal memory of 16GB which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

Connectivity and Battery

Connectivity features of the phone include edge, GPRS, bluetooth, micro USB port, NFC and GPS. Under the hood, there is a Li-Ion 2330 mAh battery which is rated to give a 2G talk time of up to 11 hours and 2G stand-by time of up to 550 hours.

There are three shades available in Xperia Z such as Black, White and Purple.
