HTC Desire 616 is a beautifully designed stylish device that comes with powerful configuration and attractive color options. It is the first mid-range Android smartphone powered by Octa-core processor. It has a sparkling display and the price of the device is quite desirable. Karbonn Titanium Octane is the competitor of the phone in terms of features and specifications.

Display and Design

It has a 5-inch Super LCD 3 screen with capacitive touch. The resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels HD which offers a pixel density of 294 ppi and 16 million color support. It has a shiny back and a single speaker griller in the front of the smartphone. The weight of the phone is 150 grams including battery with a dimensions of 142 x 71.9 x 9.1 mm.

Processor and Operating System

Running on Android v4.2.2 OS (Jelly Bean) operating system along with HTC Sense UI, it is powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core processor built on MediaTek MT6592 chipset mated with 1GB RAM for faster multi-tasking. It is packed with latest Mali 450 GPU for high-end gaming.

Camera and Memory

The phone features 8MP primary camera for photography loaded with features like LED flash, digital zoom and it can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. The secondary camera is of 2MP that also has the ability to record videos and take photos and does a great help in video calling. It comes with adequate 8GB internal memory and in addition it comes with 64GB external storage which is used by memory card slot. The memory is sufficient in order to store songs, videos, files and documents and other required data which the user wants to feed on his or her handset.

Connectivity and Battery

The device allows the user to connect to 2G through Tri band and 3G via Single band. 3G data connectivity is through HSDPA and HSUPA. Other connectivity attributes like Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, micro-USB 2.0 port, 3.5mm audio jack and GPS with A-GPS are available in the device. It is equipped with a Li-ion 2000 mAh battery that promises to offer an average talk-time as well as stand-by time.

Multimedia and Other Features

On the media part, it comes with FM, video recording, image viewer, music player which support formats like MP3, WAV, WMA, eAAC+ and the video player supporting formats such as MP4, H.264 and H.263. It comes preloaded with certain applications like G-mail, Google Talk, You Tube and Google search. Other common features available in the smartphone are calendar, calculator, organizer, alarm clock and SNS Integration.
