HTC is a Taiwanese manufacturer who designs smartphones and tablets since 1997. Its headquarters are located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The company has announced a new smartphone, the HTC Desire 516 with Dual SIM capabilities in June, 2014. The box packs a handset, charger, headset, USB cable, user manual and a warranty card. Design and Display

The Desire 516 has an extremely stylish and edgy design that looks savvy in hand. The sheer slimness and compact form factor of phone will amaze you. It has a height of 140mm, width of 72mm and thickness of 9.7mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 160grams. The phone comes with a screen size of 5.0-inches which has a resolution power of 960x540 pixels and 220 ppi pixel density. This QHD capacitive display has the ability to display 16 million colors. The phone has a multi-touch input method and accelerometer sensor also.

Hardware and Software

The HTC Desire 516 is powered by a Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chip-set and Adreno 302 GPU. The smartphone has enough power to handle the apps efficiently that are thrown on its way. The device comes with a RAM of 512 MB and an internal memory of 4 GB which can be extended to another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. It runs on the Android version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

The phone has a dual SIM configuration that operates at frequencies of GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and HSDPA 900/2100 MHz. The user can store a huge number of contacts to its phonebook memory. SMS, MMS, IM, email and push email are the messaging facilities available for the device.

The 5 MP rear camera comes with the features like auto-focus, Geo-tagging, fixed focus, digital zoom and LED flash. It has the ability to capture 2592x1944 resolution pictures. While the VGA front-facing camera allows the users to take 640x480 resolution selfies along with video calling.

On the connectivity front, the device has GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, micro USB v2.0 connectivity along with GPS and A-GPS support. The device comes equipped with a Li-Po 1950 mAh battery which is rated to deliver a talk-time up to 9 hours and stand-by time up to 220 hours on 3G network.
