The competition in the Indian mobiles market is increasing with the growing demand for low budget handsets. Recently Celkon mobiles has launched a low cost Android smartphone with Android KitKat operating system at a very cheap rate. The main competitors of the phone are Lava Iris 350M, Nokia Asha 501, Intex Cloud Y10 and Karbonn A50s. It is a dual SIM phone and it looks like mini HTC One made of glossy plastic.

Display and Design

The feature rich device packs a 3.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 320x480 pixels. The company has used plastic to design the phone and the buttons placement is like a surprise as the charging point is placed at the top edge beside the audio jack. On the contrary many companies use these points at the bottom. The volume button is located at the left side which one can touch easily without any difficulty. The phone measures 119x63x10.7 mm (LengthxWidthxThickness) and weighs just 102 grams.

Camera and Memory

The handset supports a 3.2MP rear camera with LED flash, while there is a front facing VGA camera for video calling which is really a good package for an entry level handset. The makers have added a 512MB internal storage and can be extended through memory card slot up to 32GB.

Processor and Operating System

The phone is powered by a 1GHz processor along with 512MB of in-built storage and works on latest Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS. It carries features like'Ok Google' through which one can search by voice on Google without clicking or typing.

Connectivity and Battery

The 1400 mAh battery looks small but it is quite sufficient for a mobile that has such a fair group of applications. It can easily work for a day and the users can continue their conversation without any tension and disturbance. But if you push it too much it will work nearly three quarters of a day. Connectivity features of the handset comprises of 3G network, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS, and micro USB.
