Design and Display

The Blu Life View Tab is a stylish device as far as looks are concerned. It comes with a height of 205 mm, width of 138.2 mm and a thickness of 9 mm along with a weight of 404 grams. The tablet flaunts a large IPS LCD capacitive display of 8.0-inches which provides a resolution of 1024x768 pixels and a ~160 ppi of pixel density. The tab looks quite bulky and requires careful handling while holding longer conversations.

Software and Hardware

BLU Life View runs on a Android v4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and has a RAM of 1 GB. Powering the tablet is a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor with a MediaTek MT8389M chip set and Power VR SGX544 GPU. The BLU Life View Tab comes with an internal storage of 8 GB which can be expanded to another 64 GB via micro SD card.

Telephony and Messaging

The Life View Tab supports 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and 3G (HSDPA 850/1900/2100 – L800L & HSDPA 850/1900/1700 - L800U) network frequencies. One can store an unlimited number of contacts to the phonebook. The SMS, MMS, Email, Push mail and IM are some of the messaging and email facilities available for the device.

Camera and Video player

The tablet boasts a 5 MP rear shooter which provides a photo resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and features a LED flash, auto-focus, Geo-tagging, face and smile detection. The secondary camera also has a 5 MP count. One can record 1080p full HD videos on to the device.

Connectivity and Battery

The connectivity attributes of the device includes GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Infra-red and micro USB port. There is a A-GPS support also which helps in navigation. The device is equipped with a non-removable Li-Ion 4500 mAh battery which offers a talk-time of 11 hours on 2G network.

Browser and Applications

The tablet works really well with the HTML5 browser. It comes pre-loaded with some of the Google apps like Google search, Maps, Google Talk, Gmail, Document viewer, Picasa, You-tube, Image viewer and editor.
